NASA Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission LICIA movie
A planetary defense impact simulation emulating the NASA Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission. Yellow represents matrix material while blue represent boulders. The 3D orientation of the simulation is similar to that observed by the Light Italian Cubesat for Imaging Asteroids for the DART mission. Though this simulation was halted ~1.6 seconds after impact, the complex morphological structures in the ejecta are already evident. Prepared by LLNL under Contract DE-AC52-07NA27344.
